PugFest Manchester is looking for pug-loving volunteers

The pug festival is coming to Manchester for the first time this summer

Organisers of PugFest are in search of some lucky volunteers to help at their Manchester festival this summer, taking part in all areas of the festival.

PugFest 2017 will be taking place at MediaCityUK in Salford on Sunday 16 July 2017 and will be host to around 2,000 pugs and their owners.

On their website, PugFest organisers said, “we like to have vibrant and enthusiastic people to help us with all kinds of activities at the events … so if you would like to take part in our events as a volunteer please get in contact we would love to hear from you.”

Applicants must be over 18 and have an up to date CRB/DBS and be “vibrant and enthusiastic”.

The ‘contact us’ for volunteering applications is on the PugFest website.

The event was created by Rob Clowes back in 2014 and aims to bring together lovers of the pug breed in a family friendly atmosphere. Pug-lovers without a dog are also welcome.

The open air pug party takes place from 12pm – 5pm and features a VIP area, red carpet entry and plenty of prosecco and dog treats.

There will be music, food and drink stalls, a photobooth and fairground rides providing entertainment throughout the day.

Rob Clowes said, “The event also features a kissing booth – where pug lovers can go and see a pug for a pug kiss or for other pugs to have a kiss too.

“People are so responsible for picking up dog poo as well – we have stations and bins for all that.”

If you’d like to take part in this phenomenon, coming to Manchester for the first time, head to the PugFest website and fill out an application.

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £5 for children and are now available.
