Weed festival returning to Platt Fields Park next month

Fo’ twenny blaze it

Hundreds of people are set to attend the weed themed festival for the infamous 420 day.

The annual event, will feature live music, street food including cakes and brownies, and of course, all the ganj.

The event is held in the name of campaigning towards legalisation of Cannabis.  It will be taking place in the South Manchester park on Sunday April 23.

The first year of the festival was marked in Manchester with an event in the city centre that was quickly dispersed by police.

Plattfield Park, where the festival will be held.

For the past six years, the event has moved to Platt Fields Park because it is regarded as a more low-key location in the heart of south Manchester’s student land.

Speaking at the event previously, Ali Fabric, one of the event organisers , said: “The whole idea is to celebrate weed. It’s not about shoving it in people’s faces. It’s about enjoying it.”.

“Everyone’s tired of seeing people criminalised for smoking weed. We want to show the public that it’s not harmful and that it should be legalised.”
