UCL rowers are about to start a 48 hour rowathon

All in the name of charity

At 4pm this afternoon, the entirety of UCL Boat Club – as well as members of alumni from the Bentham Boat Club – will be taking it in turns to row continuously for 48 hours.

The event is taking place, come rain or shine, in Covent Garden for all of London to see, in the hope of raising money for The National Autistic Society.

This is the third year the club has run the event, which culminates at 4pm on Sunday, and the stall will be set up outside the London Transport Museum. The club are looking for everyone to come and support – whether that be just watching, donating or cheering them on.

It’s the club’s biggest fundraising event of the year and they’re braving the cold – and the drunken night-walkers who like to wander through Covent Garden at 3am – to raise as much money as possible.

Updates can be found online via Twitter and Instagram, so if you can’t make it down to the market you can follow their progress there.

You can go to watch any time, and can donate online here.
