A student has been found dead in Mark Street halls in Lincoln

The death is not being treated as suspicious


Yesterday afternoon, a student was found dead at St Marks student accomodation in Lincoln city centre, police have confirmed.

A student told Lincolnshire Live that emergency services arrived at the scene at about 12pm. He said there was a coroner’s van, an ambulance and three or four police vans outside the property opposite Debenhams.

The student said that the flats were mainly resided by international students.

A spokesman for the force said: “I can confirm we attended at an address on St Marks Street, where very sadly a person has died.

“The death is not suspicious. The Coroners Officer is now dealing.

A University of Lincoln spokeswoman said: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of one of our students and our thoughts and condolences are with their family and friends. The University’s Student Support Service is on hand and offers a confidential counselling service for any students affected.”
