Donald Trump has been invited to Leicester

Apparently he’s related to King Richard iii

Yes that’s right, President elect Donald Trump might be coming to good old LE2.

Last year, ancestry website MyHeritage.com revealed that Trump might be a distant cousin of city hero Richard III. The link was then confirmed by Leicester Uni’s very own Professor Kevin Schurer.

Now, the King Richard III Visitor Centre has invited Trump to visit the attraction and find out more about this downright unusual and unexpected family link.

The chairman stated: “With President-Elect Trump’s links to King Richard III, we will be inviting him to visit Leicester next summer so he can find out first-hand about his links to the last English king to die in battle and the first to be DNA tested.”

An interesting move by the chairman as Donald Trump is, without a doubt, the most controversial figure to win the Presidency. His use of racist, misogynistic and homophobic comments have earned him an overwhelmingly negative reputation among students at Leicester.

If he did come to Leicester, would he pay a visit to the uni? Or even stroll into the O2 for a cheeky Shabang night out?

We’ll have to wait and see if Trump accepts this invitation but he is scheduled to visit the Queen next year.
