Leicester Christmas lights switch on this Sunday

Everyone knows the countdown begins in November


Leicester Christmas Lights will be switched on at 4:30pm at Humberstone Gate West this Sunday, heralding the beginning of the festive season.

There will be a number of entertainments and attractions to look forward to on the day, such as cooking demos, live music, local choirs, face painting and many more. Highlights include:

11am – 6pm:         Leicester Market: Winter Food & Drink Festival.

12noon – 5pm:      Jubilee Square: See our festive reindeer with Santa’s sleigh.

12noon – 9pm:      Jubilee Square: Take in the city views on the Wheel of Light.

2pm – 3.45pm:      Visit Leicester: Snow White cast from DMH pantomime at the Carpet of Light.

2pm – 5pm:           Town Hall Square: Musical entertainment and festive displays.

2pm – 5pm:           Humberstone Gate West: Main stage programme with comperesfrom BBC Radio

From 4pm:            St. Peter’s Square, Highcross: Theatre of Light

4.30pm:                Humberstone Gate West: Lights switch on at the main stage

5pm – 8pm:           Cultural Quarter: Light the Night games and digital playground.
