Violence at Mission nightclub results in police arrests

It happened in the early hours of Saturday morning

Violence erupted at Mission nightclub in Leeds city centre on Friday night, as police were called to the club just before 3am after reports of an “altercation.” The police arrested two teenagers after a man suffered a head wound that required multiple stitches.

Detective Constable David Bentley, the Investigating officer, stated: “The victim required multiple stitches for a nasty wound on his head after he was struck. He remains in hospital receiving treatment from medical staff. I am very keen to hear from anyone who was in Mission Nightclub last night who witnessed the clash leading to this man being injured.”

He continued: “The club was very busy and I am conscious there are a significant number of people who may have information that is vital to our investigation.”

In connection with the commotion, a 19-year-old man from Leeds has been arrested on suspicion of serious bodily harm. Another 19-year-old, also from Leeds, has also been arrested on suspicion of common assault. Both remain in custody as enquiries into the disturbances continue.
