West Yorkshire Police have launched a competition asking Leeds students to redesign their “Watch your stuff” posters.

The winner of the competition will have their poster seen across Leeds and will also win a £300 cash prize.

Rachael McGlynn, BACIL coordinator said: “I think this is a fantastic opportunity for the lucky winner and their portfolio as well as raising the awareness of theft from person.”

The competition coincides with the Business Against Crime In Leeds (BACIL) awards ceremony, which honours Leeds city retailers, bars and individuals who have helped keep the city safe.

The awards are part of a joint venture between West Yorkshire Police, Leeds City Council and Safer Leeds and this is the first year the events are to be held.
