The Great British Bake Off is looking for Exeter applicants

The deadline is Sunday

The Great British Bake Off is back in Channel4 for its 8th series, and once again the popular show is calling for prospective bakers to join in and show your talents.  The deadline is fast approaching, being this Sunday, 22nd January.

So, what does it take to join?

  1. Be over the age of 16 on 1st January 2017
  2. Be a resident of the UK (including Isle of Man and Channel Islands)
  3. Have never worked as a full-time baker, cook or chef
  4. Do not have an NVQ or other qualification in baking, cooking, food production, catering or food preparation – unless obtained over ten years ago.
  5. Be able to commit to all filming days – these will be confirmed if your application is successful.
  6. Not be closely related to a member of the Channel 4 or Love Productions – or anyone else involved in the programme

The appeal of the show is self-explanatory enough; it has long established itself as one of the most entertaining and most discussed shows across the United Kingdom.  Exeter has had her own participants take part before, and they’ve achieved remarkable results.

Most of all, a passion for baking is what does the deal.  Applying is relatively easy, via an online application on the producer’s website, along with it some motivational lines to give you another push:

“If you fancy putting your skills to the test then apply now and prove what you’re made of.

“Or… if you know someone up for the challenge, tell them to get off their soggy bottoms, give them a crème pat on the back and persuade them to apply.”
