Campus style: James Joyce special

Book worms with sartorial sass

| UPDATED

In a sea of sports leggings, Barbour coats and stash stands the Exeter English student.

You may spot them donning Nikes and pass them off as yet another Exetah student but look again. Reevaluate and analyse like they would do. They’ve paired their mainstream footwear with a one of a kind coat they stumbled upon in Peru. These well-read Queen’s dwelling students incarnate the perfect combination of edgy and sophisticated. They exude cool while quoting poetry to you in that postmodern way that they do.

They are the culture vultures, the classy ones with literary know how and opinions to share. They pull off every style with a causal “threw this on while reading Virginia Woolf” ease, and have enough vintage jumpers to make Alexa Chung envious. They are one step ahead of the fashion game because they’ve read up on trends. They know the significance of certain fads and understand the ironic nature of each crop top clad gal they see in the queue of Moz.

We decided to ask a few of our literature lovers about their style, and what fashion they want to see banned across campus.
