The majority of medics went to private school


80.6 per cent of Exeter’s medics went to private school.

Combined Honours came in second with less than 40 per cent, meaning Medicine has more than twice as many private school entrants as its next closest competitor.

The Tab can reveal the percentage of students who went to private school and started at Exeter in the last three years.

So what?

 

The college of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences had the least private school students this year with only 18.1 per cent.

One can only assume the brain boxes at this college rely on sheer brain power, as opposed to daddy’s money.

Big up the medics

The medical school had a significantly higher percentage of private school students, with an enormous 80.6 per cent.

It’s good to know our future doctors will be well connected – let’s hope their signet rings don’t get stuck to the MRI machines.

The second highest course is flexible combined honours, with 34.7 per cent.
