Callous EUSA hike prices of VKs and Snakebites by 25 per cent

Just months after Strawpedo-gate

EUSA have raised the prices of everybody’s favourite Big Cheese drink by a whopping 25 per cent, so If you’re going to the Potterow this weekend, you better bring extra dollar.

Some people were happier than others

Prices for VKs have hiked from £2 to £2.50 over the summer break, whilst snakebites have increased in price from £2 to £2.30.

Numerous students have expressed their outrage. Second year Big Cheese enthusiast Archie said:

“This is outrageous. EUSA are supposed to help the students, raising the price of most people’s favourite Big Cheese drink is a bit of a kick in the teeth.”

Asked if he would stop drinking VKs as a result of the price change, the Engineering student said: “No, I’ll keep drinking them.”

A Greek second year Maths student, Nikos said:

“My country is suffering enough already, for poorer students 50p extra for a drink is quite a lot. £2.50 for a drink that is less than half a pint. You can buy 10 VKs for £7.50 in Asda.”

Third year Physics student Max, wasn’t surprised though by the change. He said:

“£2 was pricey enough anyway, it feels a bit ludicrous to complain now, but not before. We’ll keep drinking them whatever the price to be honest, so it’s fair enough.”

The changes come in the same week as the music became noticeably  less ‘cheesey’ for the first two hours. Big Cheese stalwarts aren’t easy to please, and they’ll be eager to find out if the change to the music becomes permanent.

The controversy comes just as EUSA thought they were in the clear.
