Here’s all the new nights coming to Durham this term

No one works in first year anyway

Freshers’ Week is nearly over, but that’s no reason to stop drinking and pulling questionable Trev’s students. Here’s a comprehensive list of all the nights you need to know about in the coming days.

Thursday 6th October – Fever and Arc Present: ‘The Enchanted Forest’ Feat. Jamie Thompson

Fever and Arc team up once more to give us The Enchanted Forest in Loft & Studio. Previous collaboration events have seen them bring fire breathers to Wiff Waff for The Bonfire Dance, snake dancers to Fabio’s for The Aztec Showdown, and snow covered dance floors for Winter Wonderland with Oneman. This time, they will be bringing an Alice In Wonderland style mystique to the club as they kit it out in full décor. Judging by previous events, this really isn’t one to be missed.

Saturday 8th October – Jam Zoo Feat. Jam City Residents

Jam City’s doors will be opening once more this year. Home to Durham’s most popular and notorious Friday nights, they will be reopening with a Fresher’s Week Special Jam Zoo event. Last year’s event saw thousands of inflatable animals and décor placed all around the club. Who knows what tricks they have up their sleeves this time around.

Sunday 9th October – Deck To Deck Terrace Party Feat. Ruf Dug

Arc and Signal teamed up at the end of last year to provide an all-day, sun-drenched, cocktail-fuelled party on two of Durham’s favourite decks – the Prince Bishop Boat, and the Signal Library Terrace.

With vivid memories of last year’s event, the boys thought it was about time to do it all again. With the days getting shorter and the sun already starting to fade, they will be providing once last throwback to summer with Deck To Deck Round 2, all headed up by the one and only Ruf Dug. Tickets are almost all gone for this one, so make sure you get your hands on one quickly!

Monday 10th October – Freak Out @ Wiff Waff

When the sun sinks over Durham City, Wiff Waff Club will light up the night once more. Party revelers from all over Durham will flock to its doors dressed in the colour of funkiness for their next Monday night fix.

Two floors, two genres, one night. Specializing in Durham’s students two favourite genres: Freak Out welcomes all those looking to get their disco and hip-hop groove on; they confidently claim, ‘We are your new Monday night.’

Speaking to Robbie Murch, also co-founder of Signal, he says, ‘Mondays will see Durham like never before with the likes of flash-mob dance routines, multi-colored flares, baggy pants and bandanas – a place to get your “freak on” all night long.’

Grab yourself one of Wiff Waff’s top floor cocktails and groove on down to the sounds of Donna Summers, Prince and Chic or if hip-hop is more your style, their weekly rotation of hip-hop DJs will be ready to blow your mind with ‘the smoothest combination this side of Durham Cathedral.’
