Durham Lip Sync Battle: Meet the Contestants

DUCK have teamed up with MTV Staying Alive, Loveshack and Beam Shoes to bring The Lip Sync Battle to Durham this Thursday.

Carefully selected student performers from each college will battle it out on stage and are set to be judged by a tough panel of uni-wide BNOC’s; Mikey Dicks, Georgie Thomas and Hugo Briggs.

Prizes include 4 tickets to see the live Lip Sync Battle UK in London, a pair of light up Beam Shoes, as well as MTV, Fat Buddha and Loveshack Prizes

The night itself will be fundraising for MTV’s charity, the MTV Staying Alive Foundation – supporting young people all over the world to educate their communities and peers on HIV and how to protect themselves. All ticket money will be donated to the cause.

What are you most looking forward to?

It has to be the crowd. Knowing that everyone is going to witness my pure skill. I just love people who love to watch me.

“Simply the Best” by Tina Turner. Not only is it a great tune but it also describes me.

I’m not too sure I have one. I know that the “competition” should all be scared of my amazing talent. Lip Syncing is my life calling.

What are you most looking forward to?

Actually having a good excuse for making a scene of myself in public. I once chased kitchen roll down Saddler Street, and it almost got run over. It was a lot.

What is your all time favourite song?

Faithfully by Journey. Listen to it in surround sound and tell me you don’t find yourself jumping around to the drum fills!

Any clues as to what you’ll be synchin?

I don’t want to give too much away, but the song is Wyclef’s musical highlight – perhaps second only to his appearance in We Are The World 25 for Haiti
