In the last hour the Editor of The Cambridge Student (TCS) has resigned from his position with immediate effect.

The Tab understands that the TCS board has accepted Philip Brook’s resignation after their Editor admitted making a “serious lapse of judgement.”

Brook’s tenure was due to end on April 28th, when the paper makes its first week edition of Easter Term.

The departing Editor left the TCS office at 11.30 this morning and will take no part in the production of this week’s paper, which goes to print tonight.

At time of writing, Brook, a second-year historian, is understood to be meeting with Girton’s Senior Tutor Andrew Jefferies to discuss the disciplinary consequences of his actions.
