Covetous Clogs
Channel your inner dutch girl with this season’s revival of clogs.
According to wikipedia wearing of clogs in Britain really took off with the Industrial Revolution. After having been out of fashion for a few years, they are back with a vengance. Alexa even wore them on the cover of Vogue.
Clogs were traditionally a worker's protective shoe used in farms, factories and, intriguingly, for "clog-dancing". The 2010 verson from Chanel looks far from a worker's shoe, with a sky high chunky heel and studded detail.
While Chanel's retail price of $700 is a little optimistic for the student budget, there are (slightly more) affordable versions on ASOS for £85.
So go on, surely Cambridge is crying out for a clog-dancing society? Chanel clogs can be the must have stash…
