Deliveroo driver hit by Stagecoach bus on Cowley

It’s been described as a ‘major collision’


At approximately 13:50, Stagecoach Oxford have said that a ‘major road incident’ occurred on Cowley Road, leaving the cyclist hospitalised. There has been extensive damage to the right of the bus’ windshield.

The Deliveroo rider has been identified as man in his 30s. The victim has been transferred from the site of the RTA, outside Atomic Burger. Bystander, Brookes’ 2nd year Ed Shanahan, said: “It was a massive impact. I heard it from over 50 metres away”.

South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman Michelle Campbell confirmed he was taken to the JR Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Regarding public transport, minor U5 disruptions happened for half an hour at the time of the collision, but bus routes are running normally through Cowley again after a swift service from attending paramedics.
