Oxford man caught after police found 164 stolen bikes in his back garden

He was arrested in the Litlemore area and had over 160 bikes found at his home, most of which are presumed stolen.

A gentle reminder to make sure your bikes are secure after an Oxford man has was arrested by Thames Valley Police after they discovered 164 stolen bikes in his back garden.

He was found on Monday carrying one bike and pushing another in Littlemore.  The police registered the bikes as stolen upon visiting his house on Tuesday.

Good news for those who have recently lost a bike in the Oxford area as the police are currently sorting through the bikes to discover how many have been reported stolen. In a tweet the police said “If we find yours, we will be in touch.”

The man has been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
