There are over 3000 students attending a Year 10 parents evening event near Bristol on Facebook

Azeem would be proud

A small village school in Somerset, 45 minutes drive from Bristol, now has more than 3000 people from all over the country interested in attending a Year 10 Parents’ Evening.

Norton Hill School was planning to have an innocent chit chat with the parents of it its Year 10 pupils but now must face being the laughing stock of the social media world.

As is common with those unversed in Facebook privacy settings, the person who set it up now might have to deal with thousands of students swarming to the school on Thursday 11th May.

As anyone who has seen Project X knows, one has to be careful who to invite to events.

The story is reminiscent of when Azeem Ward, a Californian music student, had his senior flute recital event swarmed by tens of thousands of British students.

A link to the event can be found here.

See you all there.
