Bristol ranked in the top one per cent of unis in the world

UWE didn’t make the top 1000

According to a new list by the Centre for World University Rankings,  Bristol is the eight best uni in the UK. Beaten only by Oxbridge and a few in London we’re sitting pretty near the top of a 25,000 strong table of degree awarding institutions.

Aside from being top 10 in the UK, we were also ranked 129th in the world, putting us firmly in the top 0.5 per cent of the world’s unis.

The ranking takes into account the usual list of factors including quality of teaching, alumni employment and academic citations as well as a score for “broad impact”.

This puts us ahead of Southampton, Leeds, Sheffield and pretty much every other uni in the world.

Earlier this year, QS ranked Bristol the 37th best uni in the world and the 11th best place to study Veterinary Science.
