Belfast on Snapchat: The highlights

We were all on our best behaviour

30th July belfast Belfast snapchat featured snapchat live city snapchat

Yesterday Belfast was, bizarrely, the featured city on Snapchat Live. It was a momentous occasion — If you missed it, we’ve screenshotted the highlights.

The excitement got real once the city artwork came out.

And it’s not even green

Then as the day kicked off there was a big of sightseeing around our lovely city. Most of it was centred around our campus, naturally.

Mate what camera are you using

Even our fancy new post-grad centre got in on the action.

Lovin those beams gurl

Then there was some inevitable fangirling over the Game of Thrones cast at the Titanic studio. It’s like we’ve almost forgotten by now about Jon Snow hating Belfast.

Shame

The middle of the day saw a glimpse of the busking scene which runs amok in the city centre. Pretty bummed out the violin/trumpet guy outside Castle Court didn’t feature, he’s a national treasure.

We couldn’t escape the day without some cringe mentions of our dialect, with a “how till spake Norn Iron” section.

And of course we couldn’t escape our day without an obligatory mention of the Peace Wall.

Meanwhile two local GAA heroes illustrated the difficulty of Hurling.

Followed by a hipster pumping the tunes in his car (you can’t get more Belfast than that).

The new Ulster Rugby kit launch happily coincided with the Snapchat feature and they look pretty sweet.

Pride previews poured in to get everybody in the mood for pride weekend.

We finished the day in style, braving the rain to go out and reward the world with snapshots of the best of Belfast nightlife.

And last but not least, we had our very own goodbye message.
