Aber ranked one of the most international universities in the UK

We’re more diverse than Bangor

Aberystwyth University has been named as one of the most international unis in the country.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked the university as one of the world’s best universities for “international outlook” – coming 162nd out of 800 universities across the world.

The news comes after we climbed 50 places in the global university rankings last year.

“International outlook” includes how global an institution is both in terms of its academic collaboration and how attractive it is for foreign students and teachers.

One of the more obvious reasons for this leap in performance was the opening of Aberystwyth Universities new Campus in Mauritius, which while controversial for some students has undoubtedly increased the universities global reach.

In a media release from the university Professor John Grattan, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience and International, said: “Aberystwyth University has a long and distinguished record for welcoming international students, which is reflected in the excellent result of this latest information published by the Times Higher Education.

More than 90 nationalities are represented on campus at any one time, offering our international students and those from Wales and the other countries of the United Kingdom a remarkably diverse and cosmopolitan experience.”
